It is observed that bromine bubbles are produced via a planar state by irradiation with 75 keV electrons at the confined temperatures around 100°C, when beam intensities are very low (0.5 mA/cm2). However, the planar precursors of bubbles are not observed often as in KCl because of another dominant process of bubble formation. Many bubbles are formed inside interstitial-type dislocation loops beforehand produced. These bubbles have no observable precursor.
