Entropy Productions on the Earth and Other Planets of the Solar System

Abstract

The entropy flux of incident solar radiation at the top of the earth atmosphere is given as 3.1×10⁻⁵ [J cm⁻² s⁻¹ K⁻¹]. The entropy production on the earth is calculated from balance equations of radiation energy and entropy and shown to be 1.2×10⁻⁴ [J cm⁻² s⁻¹ K⁻¹]. Those for other planets of the solar system are also given.
