Abstract

Adiabatic demagnetization with fast sweep rate of 5×10⁹ Oe/sec is performed on Cs₃CoCl₅ by the superposition of a stationary and a pulsed magnetic field with opposite direction. The first observation of negative magnetization of an electronic spin system in a laboratory frame is reported.
