Abstract

Lavas phase compounds (YxZr1−x)Fe2 have C15 structure, and are ferromagnetic. They absorb hydrogen under the condition of 1 atm, room temperature, to form hydrides (YxZr1−x)Fe2Hy. Hydrogen content y increases from O(ZrFe2) to 4.2(YFe2) with x continuously. The dependence of μFe and Tc of hydrides on x is different for hydrogen content, namely y>3 or y<3. In y\gtrsim3, the hydrogen is assumed to form spinel structure with parent compound and the hydrogen is in H like state. In y\lesssim3, it is assumed that the hydrogen forms solid solution in H+ like state.
