Abstract

The result of thermal equilibrium measurements of aluminum and aluminum dilute alloys was reported. We applied the high precision measurements of the Doppler broadened lineshapes of annihilation radiations to pure aluminum and aluminum based dilute alloys (Al-0.50 at.%Li and Al-0.50 at.%Mg). A typical temperature dependence of the lineshape parameter was observed in pure aluminum. On the other hand, a drastic increase in the lineshape parameter near melting point was observed in the dilute alloys, contrary to the result reported by Hashimoto et al. (J. Phys. F 14 (1984) 879).
