The purpose of this study was to confirm the effect of natural minerals onhyperglycemia and glucose intolerance in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabeticmice. The STZ with natural mineral group exhibited lowered fasting plasmaglucose levels than the STZ-induced diabetic group. Oral glucose tolerance testsshowed that natural minerals improves impaired glucose tolerance in STZ-induceddiabetic mice. Histopathological evaluation of the pancreas showed that naturalminerals restores the morphology of the pancreatic islets of Langerhans andincreases the secretion of insulin in STZ-induced diabetic mice.
