The predictors of discharge from an acute care hospital to home in hip fracture patients

Abstract
【Purpose】The purpose of this study was to clarify the predictors of discharging from acute hospital to home in hip fracture patients. 【methods】The subjects were 110 patients with hip fractures. These included 17 patients discharged to home and 93 patients didn't discharge to home. We investigated age, gender, fracture types, the level of independent living of bedridden or demented elderly, certification of Long- term Care Insurance System, living with family. 【Results】A Binomial logistic regression analysis revealed that age related to discharging from acute hospital to home(corrected discriminate rate85.3% ). 【conclusion】The predictors of discharging to home from acute hospital was age in hip fracture patients. We should aim to discharge from acute hospital to home in hip fracture patients less than 76 years old.
