Abstract
A computer technique is applied to predict flow velocities in a reservoir. Navier-Stokes equations with Boussinesq approximation are solved with a finite-difference scheme based on Patanker method.
The predictions of flow velocities calculated from temperature distribution data as stationally flow approximation, and the result is compared with the velocities which was obtained with the temperature in advance by the simulatiom as a nonstationally flow approximation. The agreement is satisfactory.
It should be theoretical evidence that the computation technique is a effective way to get easily the information of flow velocity distribution of reservoir for the appropriate operation to keep the water quality.
