Abstract
4 kinds of oil collecting agent (abbrev. OCA) marketed in Japan are studied on their physical and chemical properties, oil collecting agencies and toxicitis on marine life. The results obtained are as f nllows;
1) Among 4 kinds of OCA, one is water soluble and three others are oil soluble. And the one of the three has extraordinally small solubility.
2) Agencies of OCA are examined in closed water way and open water area. Their efficiencies and the preserving time of effectiveness are also studied. These resultsare shown in Tables.
3) The more the viscosities of oil, the more the thickness of oil layers collected by OCA.
4) The effectivenesses of OCA are not lost on the surface of sea water containing oil dispersants.
5) The toxicities of OCA on marine life such as fishes and layer are neglisible in the concentration of practical dosage.
