The Crabtree effect, glucose-induced respiratory inhibition in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells, was abolished by γ-irradiation. Decline of ATP level and simultaneous increase of ADP were observed after the irradiation of the cells. The possibility that abolition of the Crabtree effect may be due to the increase in ADP content is discussed.
