Abstract
Xrs5 (Ku80 deficient CHO mutant cells) are well-known for the DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) repair deficiency. The amount of DNA-DSBs following BNCR in the xrs5 cells was evaluated phosphorylated H2AX and 53Bp1 foci using the immunofluorescence intensity. Two hours after neutron irradiation, the number of H2AX and 53BP1 foci in the CHO-K1 cells was decreased to 20% of those at the 30min after irradiation. On the other hand, 70-80% of the foci observed at 30 min after the irradiation was still remained at 2 hours post-irradiation. Our results suggested that the DNA-DSBs induced by BNCR were not well repaired in the Ku80 deficient cells.
