Abstract

We have proposed a new position sensorless control method under vector control that can be applied to a 6-phase 12/10 SRM by applying an extended induced voltage method. This control method requires inductance for angle estimation. However, it is not clear how to calculate the inductance of a 6-phase 12/10 SRM under vector control. In this paper, we calculate inductance using three different methods, and their effectiveness is investigated. The inductance which is obtained from the voltage equation decreased the angle estimation error in a finite element analysis under sensorless vector control.
