Abstract
The new particle number emissions regulation will be applied from 2011 in Europe. Simplified measurement systems will be necessary to develop the vehicles. We removed some uncertain factors that consist in the current particle number measurement and developed the particle number measuring system of lower cost based on particle number characteristics investigation, and the performance was confirmed equal to the PMP conforming device as a result of the comparison evaluation. In addition, we investigated correlation of particulate mass and particle number of gasoline vehicles.
