Catalytic Activity of Pd Dispersed on Mn-substituted Lanthanum Hexa-aluminate

Abstract

Recent concern about environmental issue have been focused not only carbon dioxide but also rare metals including precious metals which have been usually used as exhaust gas purification catalyst for automobile. For the decrease of the use of precious metals, a new exhaust catalyst which is durable and containing lower amount of precious metals is desired. So, the authors have tried to prepare Mn-substituted lanthanum hexa-aluminate(LaMnAl₁₁O₁₉) crystallites, and applied the crystallites as support material for Pd catalyst. In this report, preparation procedures of he crystallites and Pd loaded catalyst were described and the catalytic performance and durability were also mentioned.
