Abstract
Automotive software is rapidly increasing the size and complexity due to the high demand to the advanced functions of safety, fuel-economy, and emission control. This article proposes a SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) for the automotive embedded software, an emerging paradigm to automotive software development. We propose a model of SOA for the automotive software, which enables the integrated control of distributed software across ECUs as well as control between vehicles and service providers over the communication networks. We discuss the effectiveness of the proposed architecture with the evaluation of various aspects of the architecture.
