Abstract
Effect of curve character on drivers' choice of curve entering speed was investigated using a driving behavior database distributed by the research institute of human engineering for quality life (HQL). Based on data obtained at 77 curves with 97 to 528 experimental trips by 4 to 28 subjects, a prediction model of median of curve entering speed was developed in which radius of curvature and velocity tendency before and after the curve are effective factors for prediction.
