Abstract
In order to obtain higher thermal efficiency in future Dimethyl ether (DME) engines, it is necessary to consider the effect of high pressure injection. However, the influence of high pressure injection on a DME engine has not yet been understood. In this study, the influence of injection pressure on the brake thermal efficiency was examined using a common rail type DME injection system with injection pressures up to 100 MPa, and influencing factors of brake thermal efficiency and the drive work of the high pressure pump in the injection system were also investigated. These results demonstrated that the effective injection pressures to obtain better brake thermal efficiency.
