Abstract
An acoustic field model for reproducing the acoustic characteristics of the car interior has been developed by treating the space on the inside of the interior trim as a Helmholtz resonator. This acoustic field model can make clear the noise generation mechanism at frequencies where it has not been fully understood heretofore. It thus facilitates detailed studies of the acoustic characteristics of vehicle body structures.
