Proposal of Simulation Algorithm of Driver's Brake Pedal Force

-Sub-algorithm in “A Survey Simulator to Evaluate Safety Systems (ASSESS)”-

Abstract

Authors are developing "A Survey Simulator to Evaluate Safety Systems (ASSESS)" to investigate the benefits of active safety systems. In the process, it is important to determine how to set the braking methods chosen by drivers. We tried to improve the braking operation method through examining the brake pedal force. High fidelity between the actual data and simulation results was achieved by way of including the own vehicle velocity in the algorithm.
