Abstract
It is recognized that N2O, having 310 times CO2 global warming potential, tends to be produced due to NH3 slip from Urea SCR catalysts. To investigate N2O formation mechanism and reduce its emission, we have conducted both experiment and chemical kinetics simulation studies. The results have shown that the reactions associate with NH3 and NO produces N2O in the oxidation catalyst and its peak appears around a 200℃ exhaust gas temperature. It has also been found out that the catalytic volume and urea injection quantity should be optimized to prevent NH3 slip.
