Abstract

Experimental study on an air-conditioning model unit was performed for improving energy efficiency of electric vehicles by use of a chemical heat pump instead of an expensive electric battery. Electric heat was chemically stored in the CaO/Ca(OH)2 reactant bed. Hot air and cold air for air-conditioning was generated under various conditions only by the stored energy.
