Analysis on Near-miss Incident Database of Crossing Collision with Bicycle at Non-signalized Intersection

Abstract

In recent years, the traffic accident shows gradual decreasing in the number of fatalities, whereas slowly decreasing the total number of accidents and injuries. In order to decrease the total number of accident, it is necessary to investigate what kind of accident has happened. So the feature of crossing collision with bicycle at non-signalized intersection was analyzed from traffic accident data. For further details, vehicle speed and position of the driver's foot of sudden braking, traffic environment factor to delay the discovery of the bicycle, and so on were clarified by using near-miss incident database collected with the drive recorders.
