Abstract
In recent transmissions, enhanced fuel efficiency considerations call for further weight reduction without sacrificing reliability. This extends to the comprising parts in a transmission, where lighter designs that ensure the required gear strength are expected. This paper proposes the improved predicting method relying on CAE to predict a gear tooth strain accurately considering a gear tooth contact condition. In addition, the accuracy of this method is identified by the experimental result.
