Abstract
A vent tube is used for discharging high pressure hydrogen from a hydrogen cylinder in FCV maintenance and dismantling work. In this study, two vent tube systems are tested to discharge safely. As a result, it was confirmed that the hydrogen concentration is less than 1Vol.% at 8 m away from the vent tube, where the influence of the flame on the surroundings is limited even if it ignites hydrogen gas by any accidents. It was found that backfire into the vent tube does not occur until about 30 minutes after release stoppage.
