Abstract
For the reduction of minor neck injuries during rear-end impacts, an advanced dynamic test method using the BioRID-II dummy has been discussed for the UN ECE/WP29/GRSP/GTR No.7. This study focused on certification tests for the BioRID-II dummy in order to reduce differences in the responses of dummies used in dynamic tests. Currently, a new certification test with head restraints intended to increase the flexion behavior of the dummy neck has been discussed. Therefore, in this study, the certification test with head restraints was conducted under various conditions to investigate the feasibility of increasing the flexion behavior of the dummy neck.
