Abstract
In real driving emissions (RDE) tests, not only emissions but also fuel economy performance can be measured. The comparison between the fuel economy in RDE test using the same routes and in actual real world drivings was investigated. Tests were conducted by using two direct injection turbocharged gasoline passenger vehicles with onboard fuel consumption measurement tool based on OBD information. As a result, correlations between the fuel economy in RDE test using the same routes and that in the real world were found in many parameters except that the driving rate in highway was higher in RDE test than in real world driving, leading to better fuel economy.
