Abstract
The automotive industry continues to develop new power plant technologies such as downsizing, rapid combustion for fuel efficiency. But engine excitation force will be increased by those, it’s very important to improve the isolation of engine mount. This paper proposes new active torque rod by using Axiomatic Design which can be simple design methodology against conflicting requirements. Our technology principle consist of big improvement of the isolation level by lowering the resonance of torque rod and applying the damping force by inertial mass actuator. We successfully achieved good NVH level on L4 downsizing engine as same as V6 engine.
