Abstract
Previous study showed that promoting evaporation with the mixed fuel was able to realize early evaporation and compact spray, which contributed to cooling loss reduction and thermal efficiency improvement. In this report, nozzle specifications establishing the compact spray were investigated as practical alternatives to mixed fuel application. The effects of this nozzle on thermal efficiency and combustion process were examined by using diesel engine, and its combustion mechanism was revealed by using RCEM (Rapid Compression and Expansion Machine). The results suggested that compact spray contributes to thermal efficiency improvement.
