Abstract
The modeling method of a joint part between components in an engine is problem for the finite element model, because it is difficult to estimate the stiffness and damping of the joint part. Therefore, the prediction technique for joint dynamic characteristics was proposed by extracting the roughness parameters of surfaces in the jointed component. Next, the device for measuring the dynamic characteristics of joint part was constructed, and the stiffness and damping of the metallic joint were actually estimated by measurement. The stiffness and damping obtained from this actual measurement result have good agreement with the predicted result from this method. Finally, this method was applied to the joint part of engine component, and high prediction accuracy was confirmed.
