Abstract

A sitting comfort in the indoor environment of a car affects the relaxation and comfort of drivers and passengers. In this study, we aim to improve the sitting comfort of passengers due to the adjustment of the seat parameters during short term automated driving with focused on a dynamic environment. A scenario that replicates automated driving on a highway with straight lines and curves was reproduced using the driving simulator with a motion base. The results showed the reclining and side supporting can improve the seat comfort in the dynamic environment with automated driving.
