Abstract

The multi-link systemis articulated link mechanismusing conventional plane bearings to achieve variable compression ratio. The arrangement of control shaft which is unique parts of multi-link system affects the dynamic characteristics. The load of links was affected not only by the arrangement of link system but also by the coupled dynamic behavior. It was confirmed that torque fluctuationcausesrotational acceleration including torsional vibrationandthe input loadof C-Link was also increased by the coupled dynamic behavior.Consequently,it was found that the arrangement of control shaftshould be set adequatelyto achieve small and lightweight.
