Abstract
We measured the internal residual stress of quenching induction hardened axle shaft by the contour method, and then constructed a simulation system for the bending correction process by considering the existing residual stress. With the constructed simulation system, we quantitatively evaluated the effects of various factors on the residual stress relaxation behavior during bending correction, and proposed a unified parameter that can predict the residual stress relaxation behavior. Finally, we experimentally validated the availability of proposed parameter for controlling the residual stress relaxation behavior induced by bending correction process of the quenching induction hardened axle shaft.
