Abstract
In automotive wiper systems, a phenomenon called overrun, which is deviation of an actual reversal position from a desired position and causes noise and wiper damage, should be reduced. In addition, for the electrification of automobiles, reduction of power consumption of component parts is required. In this paper, multi-objective optimization of wiper motion trajectories is proposed by using the response surface method that considers the overrun and motor current as objective functions. Optimal motion trajectories satisfying both requirements of small overrun and current are obtained, in which optimal solutions depend on the direction of wiper motion.
