Abstract
In this study, application of noise map for the prediction and examination of road traffic noise are discussed for Higashiosaka City. Noise mapping is performed based on the 2015 road traffic census data of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) by employing ASJ RTN-Model 2018, which is a model developed by the Acoustical Society of Japan (ASJ) for predicting the road traffic noise (RTN). The population exposure is estimated based on the national base map of MLIT and the 2015 population census data of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The noise level and population exposure are examined for several hypothetical cases, such as reduction of vehicle noise, adoption of porous asphalt pavement.
