Abstract

In this study, abnormal combustion during high speed and high load operating conditions in a commercially available turbocharged SI engine was visualized using an endoscopic technique. Also, simultaneously measured in-cylinder pressure at different locations were thermodynamically analyzed. As a result, it is found that two abnormal combustion events occurred, and the second event was followed by the in-cylinder pressure oscillation with high intensity.
