Abstract
Tire lateral forces play the most important role in determining vehicle motion performance. In this paper, we considered the generation mechanism of lateral force and applied a novel driving force control law that simulates lateral force. As a result, we were able to confirm a wide range of improvements in dynamic performance, such as steering responsiveness and disturbance stability of the vehicle, as well as contributing to eliminate unnecessary forces that cancel out each other between diagonal wheels.
