Abstract
In the present study, we proposed the information provision systems using icons shown on the meter cluster and guide lights shown on the road surface as a speed adjustment support to encourage smooth merging behavior by drivers traveling on the main road using ACC. To verify the effectiveness of two types of information provision systems, an experiment was conducted with 26 participants using Virtual Reality headset-based Driving Simulator (VRDS) . It was found that the icons and the guide lights assisted judgment of acceleration and deceleration behavior, and enabled smooth merging.
