Abstract
A small delivery electric vehicle (EV) was equipped with a pyranometer and subjected to a long-term demonstration test in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, during which EV'senergyconsumption and solar irradiance were measured. Based on experimental data, simulation modelsweredeveloped to evaluatethe energy-saving potential associated with the installation of a PV system. Then the impact of the delivery vehicle's distinctive drivingconditions, solar altitude and ambient temperatureto the EV's energy consumption and photovoltaic (PV) power generation was also evaluated.
