Abstract
In order to obtain basic data for estimating the costs of using head-feeding combines more realistically, we conducted a fact-finding survey in which we considered the repair costs (including inspection and maintenance costs and accident repair costs).
We found that the ratio of the inspection and maintenance costs against the machine price increased as the number of cutting rows decreased and the accumulated working hours increased.
In addition, based on the results of the survey, we approximately represented the ratio of the annual total repair cost against the machine price using a linear multiple regression model. We found that the ratio of the annual total repair cost against the machine price changed by approximately 0.6% per row depending on the number of cutting rows, and approximately 0.2% per 100 hours depending on the length of accumulated working hours.
