Development of a Composting Implement with a Dehydration Mechanism

Abstract

A bucket implement for composting used for power shovels was developed. It has a movable cover and a movable bucket base that are used for dehydration and aeration of manure. The bucket is applicable for manure containing wheat straw with moisture content of less than 84% and bulk density of less than 550kg/m³. One or two crush and squeeze operations can accelerate fermentation of materials. Operational capacity of the implement is 21.5t/hour.
