Abstract
1) The flow of fertilizers in the downward-delivery hopper has two kinds of elementaty type, which generally appears compounded each other either simultaneously or exchangeablly.
2) The phases of flow are essentially under the control of the mutual relation between the conditions of hoppers and the shearing characteristics of fertilizers, the positive of which is increase of void-ratios and the negative is cohesion.
3) The results of this experiment show some practical methods to improve the flow of fertilizers in the hopper, for example, the adoption of such delivery mechanisms as give shearing effects to fertilizers in wider ranges above the bottom, the ammendment of the design of agitators, and unsymmetrization of the shape of the hopper.
