Abstract

As the basic research for the study of the separating mechanism of the digger, a few experiments were performed with the separating device built as a trial.
The following results were obtained.
1) Quantity of the soil in the harvesting box increased in accompany with the increase of the finger speed and the decrease of the angle of inclination.
2) The size of clods in the harvesting box showed a tendency to increase with decrease of the finger speed.
3) The efficiency of regain of the tulip bulbs in the harvesting box was independent of the flow quantity of the soil, but was significantly influenced by the finger speed and the angle of inclination.
4) Torque of the finger shaft decreased with the increase of angle of inclination, and was influenced considerably by the peripheral speed of the finger, showing a minimum value at 1.1-1.3m/s.
