Abstract

In some tractor cabs an operator is in an uncomfortable condition because of high noise level, even if the cabs aim at the comfortable work for the operator. In order to reduce the noise in the cab we investigated closely the state of vibration of a commercial cab and noise in the cab in various test conditions. Resonance phenomena were also clarified experimentally. It was found from the results that a solid borne sound, which was occured from vibrations of cab walls caused by transmitted vibrations of engine through tractor body, was very high at frequencies under 100Hz. To cut or reduce the transmitted vibrations from engine to cab was suggested to improve the inner coditions of tractor cab.
