Abstract

The motion of tea leaves in a primary drying tea roller which plays a role of main process of tea manufacturing is thought to give a great effect on the quality in drying of tea. In this paper, as the theoretical approarch on the leaf motion, the equation of the leaf motion by the stiring arm of a drimary drying tea roller was developed, and the trajectory of tea leaves was obtained by solving this equation. As a consequence, it was found that the design parameters such as the stiring arm length and the bent angle of stiring arm tip, the revolution of main shaft, and the friction coefficient of tea leaves were the factors of controlling the leaf motion. It became feasible to calculate the effect of these factors on the trajectory of tea leaves by this equation.
