Drying process of rough rice in a circulation type dryer was considered by examining the experimental data obtained from solar drying tests which were conducted under low temperature and high relative humidity conditions
From a macroscopic point of view, an exponential model involving a drying constant was used to show the change of moisture content of rough rice under tested conditions. The drying constant was determined by studying a moisture content curve whose characteristics were analogous to rice husk ones. A physical meaning of the drying constant was exhibited by using a drying model of rice husk, and a drying process of rough rice was explained well in a qualitative manner
