A high voltage electrode was mounted vertically on a carrying device under the ceiling of a small film plastic greenhouse, and was driven after non-heating fog was sprayed.
Though the deposit density by the electrostatic application system with corona discharge of the vertical electrode was greater than that by the conventional method, the latter method showed better deposit uniformity than the former, because in case of traveling electrode, greater deposition was observed on the sampling pieces near the electrode. In order to improve the deposit uniformity of the electrostatic application system, the effect of air blast by a small axial fan attached to the electrode or by the compressor of the fog machine, and the timing of applying high voltage were examined. 14min. air blast by the compressor or a waiting period of 10min. before high voltage application contributed to the deposit uniformity.
