Abstract

Subtropical potted plants grown in Okinawa such as Hongkong kapocks, Doracaenas and Ficus Benjaminas have maninly been transported at a normal temperature with van truck to mainland Japan.
However, normal temperature shipments of potted plant in summer invite deterioration due to high ambient temperature.
Refrigerated transportation of potted plants was tried to maintain their quality, and its effect was proved.
