Abstract
In order to develop automated seedling production system, robotic and its devices are applied in greenhouse. In this paper, automation of detecting and removing operation of absent or poor seedlings, as well as stimulating and topping operation of seedlings were discussed for the production of high quality seedlings. For detecting non-emerged cells or smaller plants and removing these spots, optical fiber sensor and sucked-out sweeper detect and remove these spots step by step. For brushing plants, ethylene generated by brushing plant body makes plant compact, hard and uniform. For topping transplants, electric power reciprocating mower attached to the front of the robot cuts upper parts of celery plants to get uniform growing before their transplanting.
