Image analysis used for an autonomous agricultural vehicle was studied, in which the direction of TV camera toward the crop row was identified from the field images. Principal component analysis and HSI transform were applied to the image binarization. A discriminant analysis method was used to select the threshold value for binarization. In the principal component analysis, the furrow and crop area could be distinguished on a cloudy day. However, on a bright day, the separation between them was not always successful. For HSI transfer, separation was successful on either a bright or a cloudy, and the recognition of the color of the field was easily made.
