Abstract

In the activation of water using minerals, negative charge causes pH-buffer and ion exchange actions, “Bakuhan-seki”, which belongs to Quartz Porphyry, forms the micell, and will have pH-buffer and ion exchage actions. In this study, the water activation ability using “Bakuhan-seki” was discussed in order to develop a pH-buffer water treatment system. The tests were carried out by changing the volume and size of “Bakuhan-seki” in the water, and pH-buffer, specific conductance and quantitative analysis of mineral ions were measured. As for the results of the pH-buffer test, the pH of acidic and neutral water increased by “Bakuhan-seki” in the water. On the other hand, the pH of alkaline water decreased by “Bakuhan-seki” in the water. The concentration of four typical exchangeable cations (Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+) in the water fluctuated, and the specific conductance of treated water increased, the maximum being 12.5%.
